Enslaved: Odyssey to the West (PS3, 2010) is a hidden gem from Ninja Theory, blending post-apocalyptic storytelling with vibrant, overgrown visuals and emotional depth. Playing as Monkey, a gruff loner tethered to the enigmatic Trip, you traverse a lush, ruined America with fluid platforming, light puzzle-solving, and satisfying melee combat. Though its combat lacks depth, the chemistry between characters, stunning art direction, and Andy Serkis’ motion-captured performance make it a journey worth taking. A criminally underrated adventure.
