Driver: San Francisco

Driver: San Francisco is a 2011 action-adventure racing game and the fifth main installment in the Driver series. Developed by Ubisoft Reflections, the game is a significant return to the series’ car-focused roots, largely abandoning the on-foot combat of its predecessors. The plot follows protagonist John Tanner, who falls into a coma and gains the ability to “Shift,” a new mechanic that allows him to instantly possess any car on the road. This unique feature is central to both the single-player story, where Tanner uses his power to foil a criminal plot, and the multiplayer mode. The game was released for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii, and PC, and it received positive reviews for its innovative Shift mechanic, polished driving physics, and vibrant recreation of San Francisco.
