NHL 2005 is an ice hockey simulation game from EA Sports, released in 2004, aiming to capture the fast-paced action and physicality of professional hockey. It introduced “EA Sports Open Ice Control,” allowing players to control teammates without the puck to set up plays like one-timers and give-and-gos, or to call for defensive double-teams. The game also features an enhanced Dynasty Mode with more interactive GM/owner relationships, including an email system, and a comprehensive World Cup of Hockey mode with international teams and venues.
