The PlayStation 4 CECH-1001A is the original launch model of the PlayStation 4, often referred to as the “Fat” model. This specific model number signifies it was one of the first units sold in North America. It came with a 500GB hard drive and featured a unique two-tone design with a glossy finish on one half of the top shell. While it is the loudest of the PS4 models due to its fan design, it is also notable for its very robust construction. This console is the true first edition of the PS4 and is a great collector’s item for fans of the console’s legacy.
