Stranglehold

Stranglehold (PS3/Xbox 360/PC, 2007) is a maximalist shooter that channels Hard Boiled’s gun-fu chaos, with Chow Yun-fat reprising his role as Inspector Tequila. Its destructible environments (shoot chandeliers, slide down banisters) and Tequila Time slow-mo aim feel like a John Woo film come to life, though repetitive cover-shooting and a paper-thin plot wear thin. A love letter to Hong Kong action cinema—best enjoyed with explosions set to loud.
