Final Fantasy XIII-2 (PS3, 2011) softens its predecessor’s linearity with time-hopping exploration, monster recruitment, and branching endings—but keeps the lightning-fast Paradigm combat. As Serah and Noel, you chase Lightning through fractured timelines, battling paradoxes in a story that embraces chaos (and a killer Chocobo theme song). Flawed, but fun where XIII faltered.
