Fallout: New Vegas (PS3, 2010) is a rough diamond—Obsidian’s love letter to classic Fallout, packed with hardcore RPG choices, faction wars, and the series’ best writing. The Mojave’s irradiated deserts, dark humor, and “Wild Card” freedom (side with Caesar’s Legion, NCR, or burn it all yourself) shine, but the PS3 version’s infamous bugs and crashes (especially post-game) test patience. Mods aren’t an option here, but its DLCs (Dead Money, Old World Blues) and Hardcore Mode (thirst, hunger, ammo weight) make it the deepest Fallout on console—if you can endure the jank.
