Defiance

Defiance (PS3, 2013) is a unique MMO-shooter hybrid set in the shared universe of the Syfy TV show, blending open-world chaos with RPG progression and massive co-op events. Fight alien hybrids across a fractured Earth, customizing weapons and vehicles while tackling dynamic “Arkfall” battles. Though its repetitive missions and dated graphics show their age, the cross-media storytelling (tied to the show’s plot) and mindless fun with friends give it cult appeal. A flawed but ambitious experiment in live-service gaming.
