Description
Final Fantasy Anthology is a compilation released by Square (now Square Enix) in 1999 for the PlayStation, bundling two classic JRPGs: Final Fantasy V and Final Fantasy VI (originally released as Final Fantasy III in North America on the SNES). The collection features enhanced graphics, full-motion video (FMV) cutscenes, and a rearranged soundtrack, though it also suffers from slower loading times compared to the original versions. Final Fantasy V is known for its deep job system, while Final Fantasy VI is celebrated for its ensemble cast, emotional storytelling, and iconic villain, Kefka. Despite some technical flaws, Anthology helped introduce these beloved titles to a new generation of players. The package also includes bonus content like developer interviews and artwork.
