The Golden Compass

A movie tie-in action-adventure game based on the film (and Philip Pullman’s novel), following Lyra Belacqua’s journey through a steampunk-inspired Arctic world. Players control Lyra and her animal-daemon Pantalaimon, solving simple puzzles and engaging in basic combat against armored bears and the villainous Gobblers. While the environments capture the book’s aesthetic, the gameplay suffers from clunky mechanics, repetitive tasks, and a rushed development cycle.
