Red Steel (Wii, 2006) is a groundbreaking launch title that showcased the Wii’s motion-controlled swordplay and shooting. Set in a gritty underworld of yakuza and mercenaries, you wield a katana and pistol, dueling enemies with Wii Remote gestures and engaging in cover-based gunfights. While the sword controls can feel imprecise and the story is forgettable, the ambition and multiplayer modes (local splitscreen!) made it a cult favorite for early Wii adopters.
