Guitar Hero Live for the Wii U took the rhythm game genre in a new direction. Unlike previous titles that used a five-button guitar, this game introduced a new six-button controller with two rows of three buttons, designed to be more accessible for new players and more challenging for experts. The game’s two main modes were innovative: “GH Live” featured a first-person, full-motion video experience from a live concert, where the crowd’s reaction depended on your performance, while “GHTV” was a streaming service that played music videos 24/7. This game was a bold attempt to reinvent the series with a fresh perspective, modernizing the gameplay and song library for a new generation.
