The InterAct Superpad was a popular third-party alternative to the original SNES controller, often favored by players looking for enhanced features and a slightly different feel. Its most notable additions were the built-in Turbo and Slow-Motion switches, which allowed players to toggle auto-fire on the face buttons or pause the game in rapid succession (creating a slow-motion effect). While the design followed the basic rectangular layout of the original SNES controller, it usually featured a slightly modified shape or “buttcheeks” on the back for better ergonomics and grip, appealing to gamers with larger hands. Although the buttons and D-pad sometimes felt less precise than the official Nintendo pad, the Superpad was a durable and affordable choice for multiplayer sessions where those turbo functions could be a real game-changer.
