Pokemon Platinum

“Pokémon Platinum,” released for the Nintendo DS in 2008 (Japan) and 2009 (elsewhere), is the enhanced version of “Pokémon Diamond and Pearl.” Set in the Sinnoh region, it follows the same core story of battling Gym Leaders and thwarting Team Galactic’s plans, but introduces significant additions and changes. These include the Distortion World, a new realm ruled by the legendary Pokémon Giratina in its Origin Forme, expanded storylines for existing characters and the introduction of new ones like the detective Looker and Team Galactic Commander Charon, and a revamped Sinnoh Pokédex with more available Pokémon early in the game. “Platinum” also brought back the Battle Frontier from “Pokémon Emerald,” offering a variety of post-game challenges, and added the Wi-Fi Plaza for online mini-games. With its refined gameplay, added content, and deeper narrative elements, “Pokémon Platinum” is often considered the definitive version of the fourth generation Pokémon games.
