Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness (GameCube, 2005) is a cult-classic RPG that expands the Pokémon universe with a darker storyline and a unique focus on “Shadow Pokémon”—corrupted creatures you must purify. As a sequel to Pokémon Colosseum, it features 3D battles, a full region to explore, and the debut of Miror B.’s disco Ludicolo squad. While the slow pacing and limited Pokémon roster frustrate some, the innovative purification system and home console scale make it a treasure for diehard fans.
